How We Account for Every Naira
The checks below are built into the system our staff use every day, not left to good intentions.
Two people for every decision
A field officer visits and recommends what help to give. Someone else approves it. No one approves their own recommendation.
Paid through the bank
Every payment is a bank transfer with a bank reference, usually straight to the school, hospital or supplier rather than to a person.
Checked against the bank every month
Each month we match every payment and every gift in our records against the bank statement.
A receipt for every gift
Everyone who gives gets a receipt, and a gift given for one program or outreach day only ever pays for that.
Reports back to those who give
Sponsors get a report of what their gift paid for.
Stories only with consent
We share a person's story or photo only if they agree, and never a child's name or face.
